Profiles: your personal profile, adding, switching, colour, logo, renaming, archiving and deleting

A profile holds a set of assets, packs and trips for one band, company, family or team. Tap the profile button at the top left to switch, add one, or press and hold a profile for Sharing, Rename, Colour, Archive and Delete. Free accounts can create three profiles of their own.

Partly Pro

A profile is a container for one band, company, family or team: its assets, packs, trips, team notes and documents, and the people you share it with. You always have at least one. The profile button at the top left (its logo, or its initials in a circle ringed in its colour) shows which profile you're in and opens the list of all of them.

Your personal profile

Luggage Logger makes one profile for you when you first sign in, named after your account (your name, or the first part of your email address). It works like any other profile: rename it, give it a colour and a logo, share it. If you delete it, the app makes a new empty one the next time it opens.

iPhone app

On the iPhone app

Switch profile

  1. Tap the profile button at the top left of any tab.
  2. Tap a profile. The tick marks the one you're in. Profiles shared with you say Shared under their name; a profile where someone has only shared a trip with you says Shared trip.

Add a profile

  1. Tap the profile button, then Add Profile.
  2. Type a name (the keyboard is ready), add a description if you like, and pick a colour.
  3. Tap Create at the top right.

Rename, colour, logo, archive, delete

  1. Tap the profile button, then press and hold a profile.
  2. Choose:
    • Sharing: who's in the profile and their roles (see Share a profile with your crew).
    • Rename: type the new name and tap Save.
    • Industry: …: which asset types the profile offers (owner and admins only; see Categories (asset types) and a profile's industry).
    • Colour: pick a colour. Only this phone sees it; a colour another profile already uses is faded, and picking it asks Use it anyway or Pick another.
    • Archive: hides the profile, and its packs, trips and calendar days, from your view. It appears in Show Archived at the bottom of the list; tap it there, or choose Unarchive, to bring it back.
    • Delete (your own profiles): tap Delete Profile to confirm. The profile, its packs and its folders go. Your own assets that are only in this profile are deleted too; assets that are also in another profile, or belong to someone else, are simply taken out of it.
    • Remove (profiles shared with you): tap Remove from Profiles. You leave the profile; the owner keeps everything.

Logo: open the Home tab with the profile selected and tap the logo circle at the top (it says Add Logo until there is one). Choose Camera or Photo Library, or Remove Logo. Editors and up can change it, and everyone in the profile sees it.

Website

On the website

  1. Click the profile button at the top left (on a computer, the profile row at the top of the sidebar) to open the list and switch.
  2. Add Profile opens the same name, description and colour form; click Create.
  3. Right-click a profile, or click its ··· button, for Sharing, Rename, Industry: …, Colour (this browser only), Archive/Unarchive, and Delete (your own) or Leave (shared with you, confirmed with Leave Profile).
  4. Logo: on Home, click the logo circle for Take Photo (phones and tablets), Choose Photo or Remove Logo.

Good to know

  • Free accounts can create three profiles of their own. Profiles shared with you never count, and if you already have more, you keep them all; Add Profile shows the Pro screen instead of a form. More than three of your own needs Luggage Logger Pro.
  • Renaming, the logo, the description and the industry are shared with everyone in the profile. The colour is yours alone: each phone or browser keeps its own, so nobody fights over colours.
  • Archiving is per person: other members still see the profile. It stays archived on all your devices.
  • The owner and admins can rename; editors can too. Loggers and viewers can't change the profile.
