I was invited but can't see the shared Profile or Trip

Make sure you're signed in with the exact email the invite went to, that you've accepted the invite (a QR code or link has to be confirmed with Join), and then pull to refresh. A trip shared without its assets shows "Assets aren't shared with you".

A share only reaches the account it was made for. Start with the account, then the invite, then the view.

iPhone app

On the iPhone app

  1. Check the email you're signed in with: profile button, then Settings; Email is under Account. An email invite finds an existing account with exactly that address, so if the invite went to another address of yours, sign in with that one, or ask to be invited again at the address you use.
  2. Accept a code or link. A QR code or invite link doesn't join you until you've seen what it opens and tapped Join. In the app: profile button, Join by QR, scan the code; or point the Camera app at it and tap the link. Codes are good for 7 days; ask for a fresh one if it's older.
  3. Refresh. Pull down on the list, or force-quit and reopen the app. A new share normally appears by itself, with a message such as "You've been added to … as Viewer".
  4. Find it. A shared Profile is in the profile menu, captioned Shared. A single shared Trip shows under its owner's Profile, captioned Shared trip: select that Profile, then open the Trips tab.
  5. Trip shared without assets? The Assets tab then says Assets aren't shared with you: "The … trip was shared with you without its assets. To see them, ask the person who shared it to turn Assets on for you." They do that in the trip's Sharing.

On the website

The same checks. Settings shows your email under Account; Join by Link in the profile menu takes a pasted link or code (or Scan QR Code where the browser has a camera) and then asks you to confirm with Join. Reload the page afterwards.

Good to know

  • Items marked Private by their owner never show to other people, even inside a shared Profile or pack.
  • If you archived the shared Profile, it's hidden: Show Archived (n) in the profile menu.
  • If the owner removed you, the app says "You've been removed from …" and the Profile or Trip goes. Only the owner or an admin can invite you back.
  • What you can do once you're in depends on your role: see Why can't I edit, delete or log something? Roles explained.
  • Sharing is free for everyone, on both sides.
