The Calendar shows every trip you can see, from every profile at once (not only the selected one), plus any stand-alone dates. It opens on this month in the Detailed view, with a chip for each trip day; the Compact view is a classic month grid with dots and a list of the selected day's trips.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Tap Calendar in the tab bar.
- Detailed (the default): the months sit in one scroll, from last month to six months ahead, further where your trips reach. Each day shows up to three chips naming the day and its place, with +N when there are more. Tap a chip to open that trip on that day.
- Compact: swipe the grid to change month, or use the arrows either side of the month name; tap the month name for Go to Month. Tap a day to list its trips underneath, then tap a trip card to open the trip on that day.
- To change view, tap the view button at the top right (a grid of squares in Detailed, a calendar in Compact) and choose Detailed or Compact. The choice is kept on this device.
- Tap Today (top right) to come back to this month with today selected.
- The green + at the bottom right starts a New Trip on the selected day (editors and above).
Website
On the website
- Choose Calendar in the sidebar on a computer, or in the bar at the bottom on a phone.
- Everything works as on the iPhone. In Compact, swipe the grid sideways on a phone or press the left and right arrow keys to change month. The view choice is kept in this browser.
Opening a trip from the calendar
- The trip opens on its Dates with that day selected.
- If the trip belongs to a different profile from the one you have selected, Luggage Logger asks first: Switch to …? ("This trip belongs to a different profile than the one you've selected."). Tap Switch to change profile and open the trip, or Cancel to stay.
- In the Compact view a trip card has a pencil for editors and above. Tap it, or press and hold the card (right-click on a computer), for Edit Day, which opens Edit Day Details: the day's name, venue, hotel and notes. See Edit a day's name, venue, hotel and notes.
Good to know
- Colours, chips and dots: see What the colours, chips and dots on the Calendar mean. Which profiles show: see Choose which profiles show on the Calendar. Archived profiles never show, and a trip that hides its blank days (see The Dates list: a trip's days with venue and hotel) leaves them off the calendar too.
- Stand-alone dates (not part of a trip) can't be made from the calendar any more; add a trip instead. A date made earlier still opens when you tap it, as Edit Event (or read-only as Event when it isn't yours to change), to change or delete it. See Stand-alone calendar dates (events): opening, editing and deleting them.
- From version 1.0.1, the trip opens with that day already selected in the middle of its list, including a trip in another profile once you switch to it.
