The Assets page: what's on it and how it's laid out

The Assets page lists every case and item you can see. A switch at the top shows one profile (with its folders) or All Assets. Tap a tile for its details, press and hold it for its menu, and use the green + to add an asset.

The Assets page is your inventory: every case and item you own, plus other people's assets in profiles or trips shared with you. It has two views, switched at the top: the selected profile (its folders as tiles, then the assets at that level) and All Assets (everything, with a Categories menu).

iPhone app

On the iPhone app

  1. Tap Assets in the tab bar (the box icon).
  2. Top left is the profile button (your profile's logo or initials in a circle). Tap it to switch profile; the page follows.
  3. Under the title is the switch: the profile's name on the left, All Assets on the right. It's hidden while you're inside a folder.
  4. Below that, the filters: Categories (in All Assets) on the left and Members on the right (only when more than one person's assets are showing).
  5. In a profile, folders come first as wide coloured tiles, two per row. Tap one to open it; Back at the top left is then named after the level above.
  6. Assets are square tiles, four across: the photo (or a box for an item, a suitcase for a case), a green CASE badge on cases, a lock on your private items, and the name underneath.
  7. Tap a tile and its card opens under that row: photo, brand, model, category, folder, weight, size, tags and who owns it. Tap the tile again to close it. If you can edit the asset, tapping the details opens Edit Asset.
  8. Press and hold a tile for its menu: Select Multiple, Edit Asset, Change Category, Duplicate, Move to Folder, Use as Folder Photo, Remove from <profile> and Delete (you only see what you can do).
  9. Top right: a new-folder button (a folder with a +) in a profile you can edit, and the sort button (two arrows in a circle): Name (A-Z), Date Added (Newest), Date Added (Oldest), Weight (Heaviest), Value (Most).
  10. The green + at the bottom right adds an asset to the profile and folder you're looking at. Pull down to refresh.

Website

On the website

  • On a computer, Assets in the sidebar expands (the chevron) into <Profile> Assets, All Assets and the categories in use with counts. On a phone, Assets is in the tab bar.
  • The same switch sits under the title. Inside a folder it's hidden, and Back (named after the level above) sits above the title.
  • Top right: the new-folder button, the sort button and a ··· menu with Select (and, with Show Advanced Features on, Export CSV… and Import CSV…). A computer has a blue New Asset button; a phone has the green +.
  • Tap a tile: on a phone the card opens under the row; on a computer a panel opens on the right with a ··· menu, an Edit Asset button and an X. Hover a tile for its ···; right-click or press and hold for the menu.
  • The Search assets field is in the bar at the top of the page (on a phone, just under the title).

Good to know

  • Counts: a folder tile says, for example, "12 assets · 2 folders" (everything inside, subfolders included). The Categories list shows a count beside each category. The Home page's Overview shows the profile's total; tapping it opens this page.
  • A profile's top level shows its folders and only the assets filed in no folder.
  • Viewers and loggers can browse and search; adding, editing and filing need editor, admin or owner access to that profile.
  • An empty profile offers + Assign Asset and + New Asset. From 1.0.1, a profile you only reach through a shared trip has its own view too: that profile's assets on the trips shared with you (one flat list), or a note that the assets weren't shared.
  • The iPhone's sort menu also lists Custom Order; it belongs to packs, and here it sorts by name.
