Select mode lets you act on many assets in one go. Every action ends Select when it's done.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- On the Assets page, press and hold a tile and choose Select Multiple. The title becomes Select Assets and that asset is ticked.
- Tap tiles to tick or untick them. Select All / Deselect All is at the top right. Unticking the last one ends Select; so does the X at the top left.
- The bar at the bottom shows how many are selected and the actions:
- Delete (red; shown when you own some of them): deletes your own, after Delete N Assets on the Delete Selected Assets dialog. Other people's are skipped and the message says so.
- Remove (amber; shown when some belong to other people): Remove from view takes those out of every profile you can edit. Nothing is deleted.
- Profiles: a list of the profiles you can edit. A tick means all the selected assets are in it, a dash means some are, an empty circle means none. Tap to flip, then Apply. Only what changed is saved.
- Folder (inside a profile you can edit): Move N Assets to a folder, Unfiled, or New Folder… at the top of the list.
- Category: pick a tile on Set Category. Only the assets you can edit change.
- You can also drag a selected tile to move the whole selection to a folder, onto Back, or onto empty space; the drop ends Select.
Website
On the website
- Enter Select from a tile's menu (Select Multiple) or the page's ··· menu (Select).
- The bar at the bottom has the same actions: Delete, Remove, Profiles, Folder, Category.
- Keyboard: Escape ends Select; Cmd+A (Ctrl+A) ticks everything on the page.
Good to know
- Putting assets into a profile needs editor, admin or owner access there, and you can only add assets you may edit (your own, or in a profile you edit). The website says how many were left out.
- Taking someone else's asset out of your view only works through profiles you edit; if there's none, the app says "You don't have permission to remove these".
- The old bulk tags button is gone: tags are edited on each asset, and categories do the sorting.
- In a pack, selecting works separately (see Select several items in a pack).
