Time zones: every stop shows in its own local time

Each stop has a time zone, and its times always show on that zone's clock wherever you are. A flight shows its departure in the departure zone and its arrival in the arrival zone. Set a stop's zone in Add Stop or Edit Stop.

A tour schedule has to read the same in every country: "10:00 at the venue" is 10:00 whether you look at it from home or from the venue. So every stop carries its own time zone, and Luggage Logger shows the stop's times on that clock, not your phone's.

iPhone app

On the iPhone app

  1. Open a day's Schedule and tap the green + (or press and hold a stop and choose Edit Stop).
  2. The Timezone row under the time pickers shows the zone the times are in. A new stop starts in the zone of the day's other stops, or your phone's zone when the day is empty.
  3. Tap it to change it. The picker offers Wherever I am (your phone's zone), the zones already used On this trip, and All timezones with a search box (Search city or zone).
  4. Changing the zone keeps the clock time you typed: 09:00 stays 09:00, now in the new zone.
  5. Once you've set an end time, an Arrival timezone row appears for it (and for a flight as soon as its arrival zone is known from the flight number). Change it when the journey ends in another zone.
  6. When the stop isn't in your phone's zone, a caption at the end of the section says which zone you're looking at ("Times shown in …"), or "Departure shown in … · arrival in …" when the two ends differ.

Website

On the website

The same Time zone and Arrival time zone rows in the stop sheet. Picking an address suggestion sets the zone from the address ("Set from the address."); a country with several zones asks which one. The picker lists the trip's zones first, then the ones near the address, then This device, then all zones.

Good to know

  • On the Schedule a flight reads "14:50 (BST) - 17:25 (WEST)": departure in the departure zone, arrival in the arrival zone, with the zone shown only when the two differ. A flight set up from its flight number gets both zones filled in for you (see Add a flight to a trip: Bag Drop, the flight and Bag Reclaim).
  • Days are grouped by the stop's own local date, so a late-night stop stays on the right day wherever you are. A stop before midday can also be pinned to the night before with Show on previous day.
  • "Happening now" highlights, countdowns and reminders use the real moment, so they fire at the right time whichever zone your phone is in.
  • Trip dates (first and last day) are plain calendar days with no zone.
  • A stop with no zone, for example an older imported one, shows its time exactly as typed. Give it a zone in Edit Stop to pin it down, and check the time showing in the sheet before you save: a stop with no zone opens in your phone's zone, so the clock there can read differently from the Schedule.
  • The 12-hour or 24-hour clock is a Settings preference and applies everywhere (see Weight and dimension units, clock format and appearance).
  • Stops kept in sync with Master Tour take their zones from Master Tour and can't be re-zoned while automatic updates are on.
