Every account has a storage allowance for the photos and documents it uploads: 250 MB on the free plan and 5 GB with Luggage Logger Pro. Assets, packs, trips and stops themselves take no space: only files count.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Tap the profile button at the top left, then Settings.
- Under Account, the Storage row shows what you've used against your allowance ("120 MB of 250 MB") with a bar underneath, blue until you pass 90%, then amber.
- The line under the bar breaks it down: "Photos 95 MB · Documents 25 MB · Free allowance". It reads "Measuring…" while the app checks, and "Usage not available offline." without a connection.
Website
On the website
Open the profile button, then Settings. The Storage row under Account shows the same figure and bar, with "1.1 GB left · Photos … · Documents … · Pro allowance" underneath.
What counts
- Photos: every photo you've uploaded, with its thumbnail: asset photos, pack photos, profile logos and bag tag photos.
- Documents: files and photos added to a profile's Documents section (see Documents: notes, links, files and photos for a profile). Notes and links there take no space.
- Uploads count against whoever uploaded them, not the profile. A photo a teammate added to a shared asset sits on their allowance, not yours. A photo with no record of who uploaded it counts for the owner of the asset it belongs to.
When you're over
- Both the iPhone app and the website check before each upload. If a file would take you past the allowance, the upload stops with "Storage full: 250 MB of 250 MB used. Delete some photos or documents to make room. Upgrade to Pro for 5 GB." (the last sentence on the free plan only) and nothing is sent.
- Nothing already uploaded is deleted or hidden: everything stays viewable. Storage then reads "Over the Free allowance. Everything stays viewable; new uploads pause until you're under 250 MB or upgrade to Pro."
- The same happens when Pro ends: the allowance drops back to 250 MB, what's above it stays, and uploads resume once you're under.
- To make room, delete photos or documents. In the iPhone app, pressing and holding an asset's photo and choosing Delete Photo removes the file and frees its space. The meter measures again when you open Settings, at most once every five minutes.
- Offline, or when the meter can't be read, both apps let the upload through rather than blocking it.
