A photo makes an asset recognisable on the Assets page, in packs and in the Logger. Each asset has one photo; copies made with the quantity stepper or Duplicate share it.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
Adding a photo to a new asset: on the New Asset sheet, tap Take Photo or Photo Library. Tap the photo afterwards to choose again.
On an existing asset:
- Tap the asset's tile to open its card. The photo is on the left, with a small eye in its corner.
- Tap the photo to see it full size (the eye says so). If there's no photo yet, tapping opens Camera / Photo Library instead.
- Press and hold the photo for Replace Photo, Save to Photos and Delete Photo (or Add Photo when there's none). These save at once.
- The same photo sits near the top of Edit Asset (under the Item | Case switch) and works the same way.
Full size: the photo fills the screen on black. X at the top left closes it; Share (the square with an arrow) at the top right sends the image; press and hold the photo for Save to Photos.
Use as Folder Photo: inside a folder, press and hold an asset that has a photo and choose Use as Folder Photo. The folder's tile shows that picture (toned into the folder's colour) for as long as the asset is inside it. Without one, a folder shows the first asset inside it, by name, that has a photo.
Website
On the website
- Tap the asset's tile to open its card, then tap the photo (it has the same eye) to see it full size. X at the top left closes it; Share at the top right shares the image file where the browser can, or downloads it named after the asset.
- Hover the photo (on a phone the buttons are always there, along its bottom edge) for Replace and the bin button (remove); Delete Photo confirms the removal. Add Photo shows when there's none. On a phone, Replace offers Take Photo or Photo Library.
- You can also drop an image file onto the photo.
- Use as Folder Photo is in the asset's ··· menu inside a folder.
Good to know
- Only people who can edit the asset can add, replace or remove its photo (for a case, its owner alone); everyone who can see the asset can view and share it.
- On the iPhone a new photo shows at once and uploads in the background; with no signal it uploads later by itself.
- From 1.0.1: full-size photos have the Share button, and the asset photo on the Assets page shows the small eye.
- Photos count towards your storage allowance (shown under your account in Settings).
