Export a pack as a PDF and share it

In the pack, tap the ··· button at the top right and choose Export Assets PDF (every case and what's in it) or Export Cases PDF (a photo sheet of the cases). On the iPhone app a preview opens with a Share button; on the website the print dialog opens, where you can save as PDF.

Partly Pro

A pack exports as two PDFs: Export Assets PDF lists every case with its contents, and Export Cases PDF is a photo sheet of the cases with no contents, handy for whoever is loading the truck.

iPhone app

On the iPhone app

  1. Open the pack and tap the ··· button at the top right.
  2. Choose Export Assets PDF or Export Cases PDF. The menu reads Generating PDF… for a moment while it's made.
  3. A preview opens. Use its Share button to send the PDF by message or email, save it to Files, print it or open it in another app. Tap Close at the top left when you're done.

Website

On the website

  1. Open the pack's page and tap the ··· button at the top right.
  2. Choose Export Assets PDF or Export Cases PDF. The browser's print dialog opens with the page laid out as the PDF; choose Save as PDF (the wording depends on the browser) or a printer.
  3. The Cases PDF waits for the case photos to load first: you may see "Getting the case photos ready…" and then "Cases PDF ready" with an Export button to tap.

Good to know

  • Assets PDF: the profile's name and logo, the pack's name, the date and the version, then a line of totals (cases, items, weight, value), then each case with its photo, item count, weight and value, and a table of its items (item, brand / model, serial, weight, value, with a small photo). Items of the same name stack into one row ("Dynamic mic (×4)"). Loose items come last under "Loose Items (No Case)". The website's copy also prints the pack's notes under the totals, and shows the value per currency.
  • Cases PDF: the same header, then every case as a large photo with its name, four to a row. No contents and no value.
  • Items someone else has marked private are left out of the list, loose or inside a case (on the iPhone from version 1.0.1), though on the website they still count in the weights.
  • The iPhone app doesn't print the pack's notes on either PDF.
  • Items appear in the pack's saved order (Custom Order), then A–Z: see Sort a pack's items, or put them in your own order.
  • Files are named with the date, profile and pack, for example "261004_Spring Tour_Festival Rig.pdf" and "…_Festival Rig_Cases.pdf".
  • Weights print in your chosen unit (see Weight and dimension units, clock format and appearance).
  • Anyone who can open the pack can export it. The PDFs don't need Pro.
  • With Show Advanced Features on, the same menu also offers Export CSV (a spreadsheet of the pack) and Export for Carnet. Both need Luggage Logger Pro: see CSV import and export (Pro) and Export an ATA Carnet general list (Pro).
