While a trip's Logger is open, Luggage Logger keeps a Live Activity on your iPhone's Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can see how the load is going without unlocking the phone.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Open a trip and go to its Logger (see What the Logger is and how to read it). The Live Activity starts on the stop the Logger is showing.
- Lock the phone or switch to another app. On the Lock Screen the banner shows a suitcase icon, the stop's name, the day's name (or the trip's name when the day has no name), the profile's name, and the count of logged out of total on the right.
- On an iPhone with a Dynamic Island, the island shows the suitcase icon and the count. Press and hold it to see the day or trip name, the stop and a progress bar.
- Log cases on the phone, the watch or by Siri and the count follows. When everything at the stop is logged, the count and the progress bar turn green.
- Tap the Live Activity to open Luggage Logger on that trip's Logger, at that stop and day.
The Live Activity follows you: switch to another stop or another day in the Logger and it shows the new one.
Good to know
- It counts the way the Logger does: a case counts once and the items inside it ride with it, while loose items count one each.
- Logs your crew make at the same stop update the count too, while the Logger is open on your phone (Logging with your crew: live updates and who sees what).
- It ends when you leave the trip, and the app clears any left over when it next launches. It isn't sent anywhere: it lives on your phone only.
- If the Luggage Logger watch app is installed on your Apple Watch, the phone doesn't show the Live Activity: the watch shows the stop instead (Log from your Apple Watch).
- If nothing appears, check that Live Activities are allowed for Luggage Logger in your iPhone's Settings.
- There's no Live Activity on the website: this is part of the iPhone app.
