A pack shows each case and item as it is on the Assets page, so to change a name, weight, serial number or photo you edit the asset itself. Edit Asset takes you straight there.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- In the pack, press and hold the case or the item.
- Choose Edit Asset (near the top of the menu, under Select Items).
- The app switches to the Assets page (the profile you're in when the asset is there, otherwise All Assets), opens the folder it's in, scrolls to it and opens its Edit Asset sheet.
- Make your changes and save (see Edit an asset).
- Tap Packs in the tab bar to get back: the pack is still open where you left it, and already shows the change.
Website
On the website
- Open the case's or item's menu: the ··· button on its row (always there on a phone, on hover with a mouse), a right-click, or a press and hold.
- Choose Edit Asset. The Assets page opens with the asset showing and its edit form open.
- Save your changes, then use the browser's Back button to return to the pack.
Good to know
- The pack reads the live asset, so one edit updates the name, photo and weight everywhere that asset appears: every pack and every stop.
- Edit Asset is shown to editors, admins and owners. You also need to be able to edit that asset (see Why can't I edit, delete or log something? Roles explained); on the website, an asset you can't edit just opens for viewing.
- Changing the pack's own name or notes is different: see Rename, duplicate, archive or delete a pack and Add notes or a photo to a pack.
- Added in version 1.0.1.
