Deleting a trip removes it, with every stop, assignment and log in it, for you and for everyone it's shared with. It can't be undone. If you only want it out of the way, finished trips already fold away behind Show past on the Trips page, and the website can archive a trip. A trip someone shared with you isn't yours to delete: you leave it instead.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Open the trip. On its Dates page, tap the ··· button at the top right and choose Delete Trip (red, at the bottom of the menu).
- Tap Delete in the confirmation.
Two other routes to the same thing: press and hold the trip's ticket on the Trips page and choose Delete, or open Edit Trip and tap Delete Trip at the bottom.
On a trip that was shared with you, the ··· menu on the Dates page has Leave Trip (red) instead. It asks first: "You'll no longer see "<trip>" until someone shares it with you again." Tap Leave Trip, and "You've left <trip>" confirms it. See What you see when only a trip was shared with you.
The iPhone app has no Archive for trips. To tidy a whole profile away, archive the profile instead (see Profiles: your personal profile, adding, switching, colour, logo, renaming, archiving and deleting).
Website
On the website
- Open the trip, click the ··· button at the top right and choose Delete Trip, then Delete in the confirmation. The ··· on a ticket on the Trips page offers Delete too.
On a trip shared with you, both menus offer Leave Trip instead, with a confirmation.
To archive instead:
- Open the trip, click ··· and choose Archive.
- The trip moves to a dimmed Archived section at the bottom of the Trips page. It still opens, and Unarchive in the same menu brings it back.
Good to know
- Only the person who created the trip, or someone it's shared with as an Admin, can delete it, and only they see Delete Trip (from version 1.0.1; before that editors saw it too, but for them the trip came back on the next refresh).
- Leave Trip is for anyone the trip was shared with on its own, whatever their role (from version 1.0.1). The person who created the trip can't leave it. Members of the trip's profile see the trip through the profile, so they have nothing to leave.
- Archiving on the website needs the editor role or above.
- Deleting a trip doesn't delete any assets. Assets stay on the Assets page; only their assignments to the trip's stops go.
- Archiving happens on the website only. From version 1.0.1 the iPhone app hides a trip archived on the website, as it hides finished trips: Show past on the Trips page brings it back.
