A new pack starts with just a name. It goes into the profile you're in, and you fill it with cases and items afterwards.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- On the Packs page, tap the green + at the bottom right. (In a profile with no packs yet, + New Pack in the middle of the page does the same.)
- The New Pack sheet opens with the keyboard ready. Type the Pack Name.
- If you like, add something under Notes (Add any notes...).
- Tap Create at the top right. The pack opens straight away: tap its green + to add cases and items (see Add cases and items to a pack).
- To back out without making anything, tap the X at the top left.
You can also start from Home: in the profile's Quick Actions, tap New Pack. The pack is made in that profile.
Website
On the website
- On the Packs page, tap the green + at the bottom right (or + New Pack in the middle of the page when the profile has no packs yet).
- In the New Pack sheet, type the Pack Name. The note under it says where the pack will go, for example "Goes into Spring Tour. Add cases and items once it's made."
- Add Notes if you like, then tap Create (or press Enter in the name field). The pack opens on its own page.
- On a profile's Home page, New Pack under Quick Actions makes a pack in that profile.
Good to know
- Create stays grey until there's a name and a profile to put the pack in.
- A pack always belongs to a profile: the one you're in, or otherwise the first profile of yours that you can add to. With no profile at all, the website says "Make a profile first: packs live in a profile." (see Profiles: your personal profile, adding, switching, colour, logo, renaming, archiving and deleting).
- You need to be an editor, admin or the owner of the profile to make packs in it. Where you're a viewer or logger, the green + isn't shown, and the website explains that you can view the profile but not add packs to it.
- The name and notes can be changed later: see Rename, duplicate, archive or delete a pack and Add notes or a photo to a pack.
- From version 1.0.1 the sheet opens with the keyboard ready on the name.
