An airline bag tag is attached to a case on a flight: a photo of the tag plus the surname and tag number on it. Tags live on the flight, so the same tag shows at Bag Drop, on the flight and at Bag Reclaim, and they feed the bag tag sheet PDF.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
At check-in (Bag Drop):
- Open the flight's Schedule, expand the flight and tap Bag Drop under Log to open its Logger.
- Tap the small + on a case's photo. The camera opens straight away: photograph the tag.
- The Add Airline Tag sheet reads the tag for you ("Reading tag…") and fills in Surname and Tag Number from the barcode and the printed text, matching the surname to your crew's names where it can. Check them and tap Save.
- Alternatively, press and hold the case and choose Add Airline Tag, then Take Photo or Photo Library.
Saving works without signal: the photo uploads later by itself. A tagged case shows a BAG TAG badge on its photo; at Bag Drop or on the flight, tap the badge, or press and hold and choose View Airline Tag, to see it. The tag opens as Airline Tag: Photo Options offers Edit (rotate, zoom and crop to the tag), Take Photo, Choose from Library and Remove Photo; Update saves a change and Delete Tag removes it.
At the carousel (Bag Reclaim):
- Open Bag Reclaim from the flight. Tap any case's photo.
- A full-screen viewer shows one bag per page: the photo with ASSET, SURNAME, TAG NUMBER and FLIGHT. Swipe through the bags and tap Log on each as it comes off the belt.
Website
On the website
The same: at Bag Drop, click the case's photo or choose Add Airline Tag from its ··· menu, then Take Photo or Choose Photo and type the Surname and Tag Number (the website doesn't read them from the photo). Edit Photo crops it. At Bag Reclaim, clicking a case's photo opens the same bag viewer.
Good to know
- Tags can be added on the flight itself as well as at Bag Drop, and only on cases (not loose items). You need a role that can log.
- The bag tag sheet PDF, one row per bag with the case photo and tag photo, is in the trip's ··· menu as Export Bag Tags PDF on the Logger of the flight, Bag Drop or Bag Reclaim (see Trip PDFs: day sheets, the trip overview and the bag tag sheet).
- The tag's surname and tag number also show on the Bag Reclaim viewer, so you can match a bag on the belt without opening anything.
