Set a reminder for a stop

Press and hold a stop and choose Remind Me (15 mins before) for a quick reminder, or Custom Reminder… to pick your own lead time and note. A bell appears on the stop's row, and the reminder goes off on your iPhone.

Press and hold a stop and choose Remind Me (15 mins before) for a one-tap reminder, or Custom Reminder… to choose how long before and add a note. A bell appears at the right of the stop's row, and the reminder goes off on your iPhone.

iPhone app

On the iPhone app

  1. On the day's Schedule, press and hold the stop.
  2. Tap Remind Me, with "15 mins before" beneath it, for a reminder 15 minutes before the stop starts. That's it: the bell appears at the right of the row.
  3. For your own timing, tap Custom Reminder… instead. In the Add Reminder sheet:
    • Lead time: 5 mins, 10 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hr, 2 hrs, or Custom to type an amount in minutes, hours or days.
    • Note: optional; it replaces the notification's standard text.
    • Notifies shows exactly when it will go off, in the stop's own time zone. If that moment has already passed, a warning says it won't notify unless the stop moves.
    • A line underneath says "Reminders go off on your iPhone, and come back if you sign in on another one."
  4. Tap Save. The first time, iOS asks whether to allow notifications. If they're turned off, a message says the reminder is saved but notifications are off: turn them on in the iPhone's Settings app.

To change or remove one, press and hold the stop again: Edit Reminder opens the sheet, which also has a Remove Reminder button, and Remove Reminder deletes it straight away.

The notification is titled with the stop's name and says "Starts in 15 mins" with the location, or your note. Tapping it opens the stop on the Schedule.

Website

On the website

The same items are in the stop's menu (right-click, press and hold, or the ··· button in the opened stop): Remind Me 15 mins Before, Custom Reminder…, Edit Reminder and Remove Reminder, with the same sheet. The website doesn't notify by itself: the reminder is saved to your account and goes off on your iPhone, in the Luggage Logger app.

Good to know

  • Reminders are yours alone: nobody else on the trip sees them, and anyone can set them whatever their role. They're saved to your account, so one set on the website shows in the iPhone app too.
  • They work on stops that Master Tour keeps in sync, even though those can't be edited.
  • One reminder per stop: setting another replaces it.
  • If a profile's notifications are muted in Settings, its reminders stay quiet too (see Notifications: what Luggage Logger can send, and how to turn each one off).
