Luggage Logger keeps a pack's earlier arrangements as numbered versions. You always see and edit the latest; the badge on the card (v2, v3 and so on) just tells you there are older ones.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Versions are made for you: the first time you move, remove or replace something in a pack during a visit, the arrangement before the change is kept as the previous version and the pack's number goes up by one.
- To see them, turn on Show Advanced Features (profile button, Settings, under Preferences). The pack's header card then shows a version badge: v1, or v2 and up with a clock symbol.
- Tap the badge. The Version History sheet lists every version with its date and its case and item counts; the one you're on is marked Current.
- To go back to an older arrangement, tap Recall next to it. The pack closes with the message "Recalled v2 — open the pack to see it"; open it again from the list and that version is now the current one.
Website
On the website
The pack card, and the pack's header with Show Advanced Features on, show the version badge, and a link to an old version opens the pack's latest version. Version history and Recall aren't on the website yet: use the iPhone app.
Good to know
- Nothing done through the Add Assets sheet makes a new version, not even a move or a removal picked there. Moving, removing or replacing something from the pack's own page does, once per visit.
- Recalling doesn't delete anything: the newer version stays in the history and can be recalled back.
- On the iPhone app you can also join two packs into one history by dragging one pack card onto another on the Packs page. They must have the same name and profile, and the Merge Packs question explains that the versions will be numbered by date. If Merge Packs appears when you didn't mean it, tap Cancel.
