The flight card is Luggage Logger's own view of a flight, looked up by its number and its date, so a flight booked weeks ahead shows the right day's flight.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Open the day's Schedule and tap the flight to expand it.
- Under Flight Number (Flight Numbers for a connecting journey), tap the blue pill with the number (one per leg).
- The card opens with the flight number as its title. On a journey of several legs it says "Leg 1 of 2"; swipe sideways for the next leg.
- Press and hold anywhere on the card, or on the title, to copy the flight as text ("Copied flight details"), ready to paste into a chat or a flight app. The share button at the top right sends the flight details as a picture (without the map).
- X at the top left closes it.
Website
On the website
The same: expand the stop and click the flight number. The card's copy and share buttons are at the top right, and the arrows or dots at the bottom page through the legs.
What's on the card
- A map with the route and, while the flight is in the air, the plane's estimated position.
- The airline and flight number, with the Status (for example "Landed", in red if cancelled or amber if delayed).
- The airport codes with the city, Terminal and Gate when known.
- A capsule saying "Taking off in 3 hrs 20 min", "Took off 36 min ago", "Landing in 1 hr 5 min" or "Landed 40 min ago", with how early or late it's running.
- Departing and Arriving at each airport's own clock with its date and offset. When the live estimate differs from the schedule, the scheduled time is struck through and the new one shown in green (early) or amber (late).
- Duration and the aircraft type.
Good to know
- The flight card is part of Luggage Logger Pro, on the iPhone app and the website. On a free account, tapping the flight number shows what Pro adds instead of the card; on the website a small PRO badge sits beside the Flight Number label.
- Live data is asked for from 48 hours before departure until a day after landing. Outside that window the card shows the scheduled times with a note saying so, as it does if the live feed can't be reached.
- Luggage Logger doesn't use Apple's own "Preview Flight" card, because that only ever shows today's instance of a flight number. The card here follows the stop's date.
- The hand luggage reminder uses the card's landing time when it's available (see Mark your hand luggage and get a reminder when you land).
