Copy Day takes everything about one day (its name, venue, hotel, notes and all its stops) and pastes it onto another day, in the same trip or a different one. Handy for a residency, or a run of show days that look alike.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Open the trip. On its Dates list, press and hold the day you want to copy and choose Copy Day.
- Scroll to the day you want to fill (or open another trip), press and hold it and choose Paste Day Here. The option only appears while a day is on the clipboard.
- If that day has no stops yet, the paste happens straight away. If it already has stops, a Paste Day question appears: "This day already has stops. Merge keeps them and adds the copied stops on top. Replace wipes them first." Choose Merge, Replace (in red) or Cancel.
Website
On the website
- On the trip's Dates list, open the day's ··· menu (or right-click the row; press and hold on a phone) and choose Copy Day. A message confirms the copy.
- On the day you want to fill, open the same menu and choose Paste Day Here. The same Merge / Replace question appears when the day already has stops, and a message tells you how many stops were pasted.
What's copied, and Merge or Replace
- Copied: the day's Name, Venue, Hotel and Notes, and every stop with its details (type, name, place, times, flight number, booking reference, vehicle registration, notes, members and so on). Each pasted stop keeps the same clock time on the new day, in its own time zone, and an after-midnight stop kept on the night before stays on the night before.
- Not copied: the assets assigned to the stops and anything logged. Pasted stops start empty, like new ones.
- Merge fills in only what the target day lacks (a blank name, venue, hotel or notes) and adds the copied stops to the ones already there.
- Replace overwrites all four day fields (blanks included), deletes the day's existing stops, then adds the copied ones.
- A flight comes across and makes its own fresh Bag Drop and Bag Reclaim, linked to it as they would be for a new flight; a train, coach, ferry or drive makes its Disembarking stop the same way. The original's companions aren't copied as separate stops.
- A stop that Master Tour keeps in sync comes across as an ordinary stop you can edit, even on a trip set to automatic updates.
Good to know
- Anyone who can see a trip can Copy Day, even a viewer, so you can lift a day into a trip you do edit. Paste Day Here needs the editor role or above on the trip you're pasting into.
- The clipboard holds one thing at a time (a day, a stop, or a stop's assets) and is emptied when you close the app or leave the website.
- From version 1.0.1 the iPhone app makes the Bag Drop and Bag Reclaim fresh for a pasted flight (before that it pasted them as loose copies) and lets you edit a pasted Master Tour stop.
- To copy a single stop, see Copy a stop and paste it onto another day; to copy a stop's assets to another stop, see Copy a stop's assets and paste them on another stop.
