Privacy: what Luggage Logger keeps, who can see it, and how to get a copy

Luggage Logger keeps what you put in and what it needs to run your account, stored in the EU. Only the people you share a Profile or Trip with can see your things. No ads, no tracking, no selling data. You can get a free copy of your data by email, and delete your account in the app.

The full policy is at luggagelogger.com/privacy (also under Privacy Policy in Settings, About). This is the short version.

What's kept

  • Your account: email, display name, a secure hash of your password (nobody can read it), when you signed up and last signed in, and a session per signed-in device.
  • What you put in: assets and cases with their photos and details, packs, Profiles with colour and logo, trips and Stops (venues, hotels, flights, booking references, Wi-Fi details, notes, crew names), logs of who logged what and when, bag tags, team notes, documents, reminders and folders.
  • Purchases: if you subscribe, Apple takes the payment and tells Luggage Logger which plan you have and when it renews; your card details never reach it. A referral records whose code you used.
  • Location: only if you tap Current Location on a Stop, and then it's saved on that Stop like any address. There's no background tracking.
  • Nothing else: no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics, and your data is never sold or used to train AI models. Overall counts (accounts, assets, trips) are looked at to run the service.

Who can see it

  • Only the people you, or an admin of your Profile or Trip, invite, according to their role. Nothing is public and there are no public profiles.
  • The owner and admins of a Profile or Trip you're in see your display name and email address in its member list. Other members see your name on what you log and where you're tagged, not your email address.
  • Photos and documents are private: a photo opens only for you and the people the asset or trip is shared with.
  • If you connect an AI assistant, it can read and change what your account can see, when you ask it to, and that provider's own privacy policy then applies. See The AI connector: use Luggage Logger from Claude or ChatGPT.

Where it lives

In the EU, in Ireland, with the database and file-storage provider. Flight lookups send only the flight number and date to the flight-data provider. Master Tour keys stay in your phone's Keychain. Reading bag tags, search and Siri send nothing to Luggage Logger.

Your rights

  • A copy of your data: email support@luggagelogger.com and it's sent free in a common format. (CSV export inside the app is part of Pro.)
  • Correct it: edit it in the app. Delete it: see Delete your account and your data.
  • Object or withdraw consent: email the same address. Replies come within a month.

Good to know

  • A copy of your data lives on your own phone so the app works offline; it's cleared when you sign out.
  • The website keeps your preferences and an offline copy of pages you've opened in that browser.
  • Luggage Logger is a professional tool and isn't meant for children under 16.
