Luggage Logger keeps a full copy of your account on the phone so it can work with no signal. That copy needs room, and the single most common cause of a slow or freezing app is an iPhone that's almost out of space.
iPhone app
On the iPhone app
- Check the phone's free space: the iPhone's Settings app, General, iPhone Storage. If it's nearly full, delete or offload something else first: with almost no free space, every app on the phone stalls, and Luggage Logger can't save.
- Force-quit and reopen the app: swipe up from the bottom of the screen, pause, and flick Luggage Logger away. Then open it again.
- Let a big download finish. After signing in on a new phone, or after Download All, the app is busy for a minute; Home shows the progress.
- Check Cloud Sync: profile button, Settings, Cloud Sync. A caption that stays on "n changes syncing" for hours, with a bar that never clears, means something is stuck: press and hold the status row and Copy Details, then email it to support@luggagelogger.com.
- Rebuild the phone's copy: Settings, Cloud Sync, Clear Local Cache, then Clear Cache. The app downloads everything again on the next sync. Do this while online, and after any unsent changes have gone (the caption says Up to date).
- Update the app from the App Store, and keep iOS up to date.
- Turn off Offline Mode if you switched it on in Cloud Sync and forgot: until then the app stops trying to send.
Website
On the website
- Reload the page. If it's the installed app, close and reopen it.
- Use an up-to-date browser, and close other heavy tabs.
- On a bad connection the website waits for the server; the iPhone app is the better tool with no signal.
Good to know
- Large Profiles with hundreds of photos take longer to download the first time; after that only changes are fetched.
- If the app crashes repeatedly on one screen, note what you were doing and the app version (Settings, About) and email support.
